M-Sail is a registered charity providing life-enhancing sailing adventures for people with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Our voyages are a gentle introduction to sailing and offer the opportunity to get outdoors, learn new skills, share experiences, make new friends, have fun and enjoy an outdoor adventure! Step aboard a classic yacht or traditional Tall Ship for an adventure of a lifetime along the Cornish coastline.
All our voyages set sail from Falmouth in Cornwall.
”I believe in the therapeutic benefits of spending time out on the water. It provides the opportunity to take time to pause for a moment, to breathe, to relax, to laugh, to make new friends, to feel ‘normal’, to feel able, not disabled and totally accepted. Thank you M-Sail.”

Frequently asked questions
Who can go on a sailing adventure?
Sailing trips are available to adults aged 18+ with multiple sclerosis who live in the United Kingdom.
How much do sailing trips cost?
All of our trips are provided free of charge to participants. All safety kit including lifejackets and wet weather gear is provided along with food and refreshments. We receive no government funding and it’s only thanks to the generosity of our supporters that we’re able to continue our work.
How physically capable do I need to be to go sailing?
All activities on our sailing trips are designed to meet with participants abilities. However, our boats are not adapted for wheelchairs and there are short ladders inside the vessels which you need to be able to climb. If you think you might need assistance to move around, it may be possible to bring someone with you who can give you a helping hand. Contact us for more details.
What kit do you provide and what clothing should I bring?
We will provide you with a waterproof sailing jacket and trousers, plus a safety lifejacket. Click here for a packing list of suggested items to bring.
I have never been on a sailing boat before. Is it a problem?
Not at all! If you like being on the water and would enjoy sitting on deck, watching the secluded bays, beautiful harbours and picturesque villages passing by – then you are just perfect for a sailing experience.
What about seasickness?
It’s no shame to be seasick and even experienced sailors can experience it on occasions. To help reduce the risk of seasickness we sail close to the coast and take regular breaks at nearby locations. In the rare case that you still should not feel well we advise to stay on deck and watch the horizon. This mostly helps and if not, we will sail to back to base!
